Chemical name	5-methyl-1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b]benzothiazole
Classification	Fungicide / Agrochemical
Formulation	98% TC, 75% WP, 40% SC
Biochemistry	Melanin biosynthesis inhibitor (reduction of 1,3,8-trihydroxynaphthalene and vermelone).
Mode of action	Systemic fungicide, absorbed rapidly by the roots, with translocation through the plant.
Usage	Control of rice blast (Pyricularia oryzae) in transplanted and direct-seeded rice at 100 g/ha. Can be applied as a flat drench,transplant root soak, or foliar application. One or two applications by one or more of these methods give a season-long control of the disease.
Mammalian Toxicology	Oral Acute oral LD50 for rats 314, mice 245, dogs >50 mg/kg. Skin and eye: Acute percutaneous LD50 for rabbits >2000 mg/kg. Slight eye irritant; non-irritating to skin (rabbits). Inhalation: LC50 (1 h) for rats 0.146 mg/l air.

   

        Tricyclazole is an common active ingredient in several commercial fungicide products used to control rice blast fungus, in transplanted and direct-seeded rice.Tricyclazole, also known as rice blast, is a selective endothermic protective fungicide. Tricyclazole is a protective triazole fungicide with strong endothermic properties, which has special effects in preventing and controlling rice blast. After application, it can be absorbed by theroots, stems, and leaves of rice and transported within the plant body. It can besprayed 1 to 2 times throughout the entire growth period of rice. It can effectively prevent the occurrence of rice blast. Tricyclazole has strong erosion resistance and does not require additional spraying in case of rain after 1 hour of spraying. Mainly inhibiting spore germination and attachment spore formation, thereby effectively preventing bacterial invasion and reducing the production of rice blast fungus spores. Tricyclazole has strong internal absorption and transport properties, and it decomposes slowly in the plant and soil.
