Due to its residual activity in the soil, this compound also has a blocking effect on weeds that did not grow before application.

     Flucarbazone-sodium is a herbicide that belongs to the sulfonylurea chemical class. It is commonly used for weed control in various crops such as wheat, barley, and oats. Flucarbazone-sodium works by inhibiting the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS) in plants, which disrupts the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids and ultimately leads to the death of the target weeds. Flucarbazone is effective against grassy weeds and some broadleaf weeds, making it a valuable tool for weed management in cereal crops.
